When power attorney Scott Finn goes to dinner with his rising star co-worker and former lover Natalie, he has no idea it will be for the last time. When her body turns up in Boston Harbor 24 hours later, Scott finds himself embroiled in her murder in ways he could never have imagined.
Considered a suspect by the police and a threat by the Irish Mob and Boston political power mongers, Scott finds himself going back to his life on the streets of Charlestown for survival skills he thought he'd never need again. He also finds himself strangely attracted to the very detective that is trying to put him away for murder - Linda Flaherty.
Convincing Linda that he's innocent proves to be the least of his worries when his old gang-mate and friend Tigh pays him a visit. An enforcer for the Irish Mob, a visit from Tigh is never good news, and he comes with a warning for Scott that there is a price on his head. Scott understands the warning was delivered at great risk for Tigh, yet still continues his quest to clear his name and find Natalie's murderer.
Is Natalie on of many murdered by the serial killer Little Jack? Was it Scott? Was it the governor of Massachusetts himself? With an excellent voice for Boston, an eye for creating vivid characters and a nose for giving out just enough information, Hosp leads us willingly down the path to find out the answers.
