American Fiction is a broad topic. Since taking on this project I have spent some time defining what I consider American Fiction to be. The primary criteria for American Fiction is that author be an American. Do I think they need to have been born here? No, I don't. America has always been the melting pot of nations, a place of refuge and a place of hope for any person who wishes to arrive on our shores and participate in our society. American Fiction reflects that melting pot.
In this section I hope to capture the sweep of American Fiction, encompassing the freedom of America that is reflected in its many genres, and the melting pot of America in its many different authors. I am seeking guest writers and article topics to reflect all aspects of American Fiction, from the classics that defined our nation to the contemporary novels that reflect it now.
I hope you enjoy watching the developing section as it matures into a great resource for American fiction reviews and information.
