Author Richard Leigh, who is most well-know for charging Dan Brown with plagiarism in The Da Vinci Code died. Leigh was co-author of the controversial novel The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, which he co-wrote with Michael Baigent. Leigh and Baigent claimed that Brown’s novel used same ‘architecture’ as their novel The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail. The Leigh/Baigent novel was a bestseller in 1984 and experienced another 40 million copies worth of sales in 2003 after the release of The Da Vinci Code. Their case was thrown out of court because JudgePeter Smith said the ideas were too common to be protected by copyright.
