Robert Jordan author of the wildly popular Wheel of Time fantasy series died on September 16, at the age of 58. Robert Jordan was the pen name for James Oliver Rigney Jr. who also wrote under the pen name Reagan O'Neal. Jordan was born on October 17, 1948 in Charleston, South Carolina. The funeral will be September 19th, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC. Jordan died of the rare blood disease amyloidosis.
Jordan’s family asked that rather than send flowers, condolences should be made in the form of donations to the Amyloidosis Research group at the Mayo Clinic:
