Holiday specific books: Do you take a pass or do you read them or buy them for others?

I started seeing Christmas decorations out with the Halloween candy this weekend and I couldn't believe it! I can't stand it when stores jump the gun on holidays. My life is busy enough without trying to figure out if I need to buy a Christmas present for every relative and friend I have or if I can skip a few yet.

Besides, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and I hate to see it get short shrift. Who doesn't love getting to be someone else for a little while and taking a break from the hustle and bustle of life.

This year I am going as a paperback (thanks for the idea, EA folks!). The idea was to buy a roll of butcher paper, lay on it and cut out a person shape. Pin it to my back and voila! I'm a paperback. yuck yuck yuck.

Halloween is also the perfect time of year to break out some of my favorite American Fiction classic novels. Legend of Sleepy Hollow, anyone? No? How about The Tell Tale Heart and Other Classics, or The Shining?

Keep an eye out for articles on Halloween appropriate books to keep popping up out of nowhere the rest of the month.
